Testing a new lens with Rosebud back in Melbourne. Work tomorrow... Brunswick, VIC.

I took this photo quiet early in the morning while driving back to Melbourne from Cowra. Maybe it was lack of coffee or a touch of white line fever, but I thought this photo would be much better. The front lit flowers were so intense and fiery. The tree hummed from all the bees too. Young, NSW.

The Search in 2017 was entirely black and white and a 50mm lens. I learnt a lot about tone and texture, taking and posting a black and white picture everyday here for a year. I also really loved learning and exploring the 50mm focal length. As much as I felt limited sometimes by restricting myself to the 50, it's still my 'go to' lens.

This year I'll go back to by any lens, colour or B/W, whatevs. I just love taking photos. Why restrict myself for another year! I know what I have learnt about black and white will inform my colour work. Search on!

My brother and I are working through 1000's of my fathers slides... Lost family, random beauty and so many boring images of people, places and things that my Dad felt compelled to capture at the time. There is a project, maybe a book amongst it all. (above, My brother Leigh and my Nan), Tamworth, NSW.
